Community Structure and Governance

Last Updated: October 09, 2025

Introduction

The Imperium Portal and associated services are run entirely by Imperium community volunteers. This document explains our community structure, governance model, and how decisions are made within our organization.

Community Structure

Volunteer-Based Organization

The Imperium is not incorporated as a legal entity but operates as a community-driven organization. All services, including this Portal, our Discord server, and related resources, are maintained by dedicated volunteers who contribute their time, skills, and resources to support the community.

Leadership Structure

Our community is organized with the following structure:

  1. Community Leadership: A core group of senior volunteers who oversee the overall direction and policies of the community.

    • Fleet Command members under Fleet Commander are responsible for strategic organization and management of the community
  2. Community Specialists and Officers: Volunteers with specific skills or expertise who contribute to various areas of our community. They may include:

    • Developers and Technical Support
    • Moderators and Community Managers
    • Content Creators (documentation, guides, etc.)
    • Gameplay oriented specialists (squadrons, missions, events, etc.)
    • Recruitment and Human Resources specialists
    • Event coordinators
  3. Moderators and Administrators: Volunteers who help maintain our platforms, enforce community guidelines, and assist members.

  4. Imperium Members: The broader community who participate in activities, provide feedback, and may take on specific roles or responsibilities in some cases.

Decision-Making Process

Decisions within our community are made through a collaborative process:

  1. Community Input: We value input from all community members. Suggestions, feedback, and concerns can be shared through designated channels.

  2. Discussion and Evaluation: The relevant community leadership and volunteers discuss proposals, considering their impact on the community, technical feasibility, and alignment with our values.

  3. Implementation: Once a decision is reached and approved by the community leadership, volunteers with the necessary skills implement the changes. They report back to the community leadership, who in turn may communicate the outcomes to the broader community.

  4. Transparency: We strive to maintain transparency about significant decisions that affect the community, communicating changes through announcements and updates.

Volunteer Contributions

Our community thrives thanks to the contributions of our volunteers. These contributions include:

  • Technical Development: Coding, maintaining, and improving our Portal and other technical infrastructure
  • Moderation: Ensuring our spaces remain welcoming and aligned with our community guidelines
  • Content Creation: Developing documentation, guides, and other resources
  • Event Organization: Planning and running community events and activities
  • Member Support: Helping new and existing members navigate our community and services
